Bear offers detailed Flood Consequence Assessments and Flood Risk Assessments for a variety of schemes of all sizes across England and Wales.
Our experienced engineers stay up to date with the latest policy changes across the United Kingdom and liaise with many stakeholders including the LLFA, Natural Resources Wales and the Environment Agency as part of the assessment.
SAB Applications
From 7 January 2019 all new developments with a construction area of 100 square metres or more must have an approved sustainable drainage system (SuDS) to manage on-site surface water.
Surface water drainage systems must be designed and built following mandatory standards published by Welsh Government and must be approved by the council’s Sustainable Drainage Approving Body (SAB) before work starts.
Bear can ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible with experienced drainage engineers handling the whole process from design to submission.

Bear undertake a host of various surveys ranging from measured surveys to building structural condition surveys.
As-built building drawings can be produced as well as structural reports highlighting defects together with remedial/repair advice.
Utilising modern technology, we offer virtual tours that provide defect and remedial advice in an interactive system.
Drone Surveys
Bear can offer the use of a drone to inspect and survey all types of structures and can provide photography for marketing purposes. We have Permission for Commercial Operation (PfCO) to fly a drone from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), aerial survey of structures/landscaping can be completed.
Drone surveys can highlight any defects in the roof fabric and also any issues with drainage and detritus that has a habit of forming the valley gutters.
Building Refurbishment & Remodelling
Bear offers advice and design guidance on refurbishment projects to allow spatial requirements to be realised together with project cost certainty.
From domestic renovations through to commercial developments and hospitals, Bear can offer guidance at project inception to ensure the maximum space is realised in a cost effective manner.
